Household organic waste, such as banana peels and eggshells, has not been optimally utilized. Banana peels contain cellulose that can be used as an alternative raw material for paper production, while eggshells contain calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), which has the potential to be used as a natural filler in papermaking. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the ratio of banana peel pulp to waste HVS paper pulp with the addition of 4% eggshell filler on the thickness and tensile strength of environmentally friendly paper. Banana peel pulp was produced through a delignification process using a 6% NaOH solution at 80°C for 1 hour and then mixed with waste HVS paper pulp at ratios of 10%:90%, 30%:70%, 50%:50%, 70%:30%, and 90%:10%. The resulting paper was evaluated for its thickness and tensile strength. The results showed that increasing the proportion of waste HVS paper produced paper with greater thickness. The highest thickness value was obtained at the 10%:90% ratio (1.0809 mm), while the lowest thickness was recorded at the 90%:10% ratio (0.2637 mm). Meanwhile, the highest tensile strength was achieved at the 70%:30% ratio (2.00 MPa), whereas the lowest value was obtained at the 50%:50% ratio (1.49 MPa). These findings indicate that a higher proportion of waste HVS paper contributes to increased paper thickness, while an appropriate combination of banana peel and waste HVS paper fibers improves tensile strength. Therefore, optimizing the fiber ratio is an important factor in achieving a balance between the physical and mechanical properties of environmentally friendly paper produced from biomass waste.
